I am recovering well
Well I survived surgery and I can definitely say the two night stay in the hospital was relaxing. I don’t remember a lot of Wednesday, except sleeping waking up for a few minutes if someone came into my room, taking more pain killers (orally and shots) and going back to sleep. I definitely got lots of sleep. Kris and the nurse helped me walk a very short distance down the hall on Wednesday afternoon before Kris left. I walked, but I was so tried from all of the drugs that it was definitely a group effort. (Remember any pain killer besides Motrin or Tylenol knocks me completely out for many hours at a time.) So after they finally took out some packing I had in and my catheter Thursday morning I took one more Percet(SP) and then it was Motrin only. I have only had Motrin and Tylenol since then and I seem to being doing ok with it as long as I keep it in my system and don’t forget to take it.
Kris brought the kids to the hospital to visit twice on Thrusday and the Wellman family stopped by when they made it into town Thursday evening. I left the hospital around lunch time on Friday. I came home and saw the kids and Wellman’s then I took a nap. I went with Kris for Kayleigh's dance recital pictures. We won’t discuss too much what happened after that, but I will say handicap parking is great and Tim McGraw sang great and we got some great pictures. Not many people can get out of the hospital and less than 12 hours later hear Tim McGraw in concert, but I did it. Crystal and Sharon took great care of me and Crystal and I already are planning to see Toby Keith and Montgomery Gentry on Sept. 20.
I truly am feeling pretty good for just having two major surgeries. I told Kris this morning I basically feel like I had a really tough workout and all my muscles in my midsection and back are very sore and swollen and I am tired, but I feel ok besides that. My IV went bad Thursday morning so my left forearm is bruised and painful as well, but it is slowly getting better. I am not known for being able to sit around and not do anything, so it is very hard for me to rest and relax. In fact a neighbor came by earlier and invited us over and said a few neighbors were having dinner together and I wanted to go so bad because I have not been able to get together with a few of them for months, but oh well another time. I know I have to listen to Kris and take it easy, but it is so hard. He is off of work until next Monday, so he can help me out and he can take care of the kids since I can’t lift anything.
