Snow, snow, go away!!!

So, we have barely started winter here in Utah and we are already looking forward to warmer weather. Not a good sign. We are ready to move even after all of my protests that we will NOT move again anytime soon after PCSing twice in less than a year. (We don’t miss NM, but we do miss all of our great friends we made there, but they all have moved also.)

I can’t remember when we did not have snow on the ground. Our front yard gets a lot of sun, so it melts pretty quickly once it warms up, but the backyard has been snowy for weeks now. This equals wet, muddy dog paws when they come back in.

We had snow on Thursday and last night. We are supposed to have snow 4 out of the next 7 days. Kris just look at the weather report and our high is 26* on Tuesday, 28* Wednesday, and 23* on Thursday. We are ready for warmer weather, but I don’t think that it will be coming anytime soon.

When Kris got home from work Thursday night/ Friday morning he shoveled the driveway and sidewalks, so I wouldn’t have to worry about in the morning before the children arrived for the day. Well I had to shovel 2-3inches of snow off of the driveway again in the morning. That is when I decided that I wasn’t sure if I was cut out for this Utah winter. Kris agrees that this is not the place for us to live permanently.

I will try to take some pictures of our white winter wonderland tomorrow. The snow just doesn’t excite us anymore. :(

  • Seems like the Kiger family brings snow to all their new homes. You had lots of snow in NM and now in Utah. I know the ski resorts thank you so much! I can hardly remember the last white Christmas we had, but Granny did remind me of the Christmas morning we had to turn around and come home to put on chains before we could get to Mawmaw and Pops house. That was a LONG time ago. I'm back home and Corolla is sure glad to see me. Talk to you soon. Love to all, Aunt Lu

  • Oh Amy...I'll gladly trade with you...I wish we could. It's been in the mid to high 70's all week, and I'm so sick of it!!! It's horrible not having seasons and we've been here for over 3 years now and are ready to move! Nursing school will keep us here but after that, we hope to do a base of preference (Hill) and move! :) That puts us closer to Colorado where I think we plan on retiring!
So I will send you some of our warm sunshine, and you send me some of your snow! :)
